Castle Rising
Castle Rising is a Norman heritage site near Kings Lynn, Norfolk, with a stone keep built around 1140 AD and 20 acres of earthworks.

About
Castle Rising
One of England's most significant 12th-century castles, Castle Rising sits a few miles north-east of Kings Lynn and has served variously as a hunting lodge, royal residence, and the home of Queen Isabella following the murder of Edward II. The elaborately decorated stone keep is among the finest surviving examples of Norman architecture in the country, enclosed by massive earthworks that remain largely intact.
