The flooded gravel pits attract a wide range of wetland and waterside wildlife, making it a well-regarded birdwatching site in west Suffolk. The visitor centre is open daily 10:00 to 17:00, and the site has parking on-site and wheelchair-accessible paths, suiting visitors of most abilities.
