Fakenham's Thursday market runs from 8.30am to 2pm in the Market Place. Fakenham Town Council says the town was granted its market charter more than 800 years ago, and calls the market a busy country market and a good place to pick up the weekly shop. Stalls sell bread, cheese, fish, pies, cakes, and fruit and vegetables, along with household goods including clothing, plants and flowers, and jewellery.
