Managed by Suffolk Wildlife Trust, Lackford Lakes Nature Reserve sits just outside Bury St Edmunds and is one of two flagship reserves the Trust runs with a full visitor centre. The flooded gravel pits attract a wide range of wetland and waterside wildlife, making it a well-regarded birdwatching site in west Suffolk. The visitor centre is open daily 10:00 to 17:00, and the site has parking on-site and wheelchair-accessible paths, suiting visitors of most abilities.
