About this event
Whether you're celebrating a special anniversary, remembering a loved one or sharing your passion for live entertainment, there's a seat with your name on it. The Regent Theatre first opened its doors in 1929 as a cine-variety theatre with film screenings as its main fare seating 2,000 people with its own Wurlizter Theatre Organ, caf and restaurant. Since then, generations of families have enjoyed comedy, music and plays from some of the biggest names in entertainment with the likes of The Beatles, Cliff Richard, Buddy Holly and Tina Turner all gracing the Ipswich Regent Theatre's stage over the last near-100 years. The enjoyment of the theatre's loyal patrons has always been the core of what the theatre does and as it heads to celebrating its 100th anniversary, you can become part of the history of this great venue by naming a seat. This opportunity will allow you to pick your favourite seat and purchase a brass plaque with an inscription of your choice as a commemoration, celebration or acknowledgement of support. Once purchased you will be invited to see your seat and meet the team.
