Sitting at Sizewell Gap, about 100 yards from the beach, the Vulcan Arms has been a pub since at least the middle ages, with stories of smugglers' tunnels once connecting the building to the shore. Inside, nooks and crannies around a log burner make for a cosy atmosphere in winter; a patio and garden open up the space in summer.
