RSPB Wolves Wood
RSPB Wolves Wood is an ancient woodland nature reserve near Ipswich, Suffolk, where trees have been coppiced continuously since at least the 1600s.

About
RSPB Wolves Wood
Just off the A1071 outside Hadleigh, Wolves Wood is one of only seven surviving ancient woodland areas that once blanketed East Anglia, its heavy clay soils having kept developers away for centuries. The RSPB manages it using traditional coppicing alongside annual mowing programmes that sustain wildflower patches and butterfly habitats, while recent work to reverse old drainage systems is helping keep the wood wetter and more resilient to climate change.
