Make Play brings a touch of wonder to Christchurch Mansion in Ipswich, Suffolk, on Wednesday 2 September with a special morning of free, immersive play for the very youngest visitors.
The centrepiece is Constable's Garden, a brand-new hands-on playscape inspired by John Constable's painting *Golding Constable's Kitchen Garden*. Created with children aged 0 to 5 in mind, the playscape invites little ones to wander, crawl, climb, and explore a world of tactile surprises drawn from Suffolk's landscape and heritage, all designed to engage the senses, spark creativity, and support early learning. It sits beautifully within one of Ipswich's most beloved historic buildings, which holds one of the world's most significant collections of Constable's work.
