About this event
Opening evening for Lines of Dissent, Grace Adam's solo exhibition at Walpole Old Chapel and the culmination of her year as Artist in Residence. An early chance to see the huge hanging charcoal drawings made on site, the colour studies and the hazel-rod installation, with the artist present, before the exhibition opens to the public on Saturday 26 September.
The chapel is a 16th-century timber farmhouse converted into a secret nonconformist meeting house in 1689, and the work is a direct response to the building: its rough surfaces, worn edges and the salvaged ship's mast that holds up the roof.
The exhibition then runs Saturdays and Sundays until 31 October, with a free artist's talk on Sunday 27 September at 3pm.
