Ipswich County Library

Opened in 1924 and designed by local architect Henry Munro Cautley in a mixture of Tudor and Gothic influences, the County Library on Northgate Street is one of the most striking public buildings in Ipswich town centre. Its showpiece is the 100ft Northgate Reading Room, a reference and study space lined with coloured glass windows depicting literary figures, scientists, and artists.
