Aldeburgh Festival
The Aldeburgh Festival of Music and the Arts returns for its 77th edition this June, running from 12 to 28 June 2026 across the coastal town of Aldeburgh and the wider Suffolk landscape. Founded by Benjamin Britten and Peter Pears in 1948, this year's festival carries particular resonance: it marks fifty years since Britten's death, celebrating both his music and the lasting legacy he and Pears built around nurturing the next generation of artists. The Aldeburgh Jubilee Hall, the festival's original home in the heart of town, remains a cherished part of the programme. This year's Big Day Out on 13 June brings the festival flooding back into Aldeburgh's streets and halls, immersing the town in music, dance and activities for all ages, including a free Mini Music Makers session for children aged 0 to 5.
