In Conversation with Louis de Bernières

About this event

Join internationally acclaimed author Louis de Bernières at Sheringham Little Theatre for an engaging conversation about his latest book, Smelling of Rooks: Nine Years in the Norfolk Alps. Best known for his bestselling novel Captain Corelli’s Mandolin, the unforgettable wartime romance set on the Greek island of Cephalonia and later adapted into a major film starring Nicolas Cage and Penélope Cruz, de Bernières now turns his attention closer to home. In Smelling of Rooks, he shares a rich collection of reflections, anecdotes and observations drawn from life in rural Norfolk, exploring subjects as varied as music, cats, motorcycles, politics, parenting and the pitfalls of social media. In this special event, de Bernières will be in conversation with Chris Hamilton-Emery, founder of Cromer-based publisher Salt, discussing the inspirations behind the book, his life in East Anglia, and a remarkable literary career spanning more than three decades. A fascinating evening with one of Britain's most beloved storytellers. Special Bundle Ticket - Just £15 Make an afternoon of it with our exclusive Bundle Ticket. This special offer includes:
