About
Wymondham Market
Wymondham Town Council's traditional Charter Market is held in the Market Place every Friday from 8am to 2pm. The town's first market charter was issued by King John in 1204, and Henry VI renewed it in 1440. A market has been held every Friday since then, and the town council calls it a major part of Wymondham's historical and cultural identity. On the third Saturday of each month the Market Place also hosts a farmers' market from 9am to 1pm, selling only local produce. Wymondham was the first town in Norfolk to hold one, in March 2000. Parking is available at Central Hall on Back Lane and in the South Norfolk car parks on Back Lane, Market Street and Town Green.
