About
Great Yarmouth Market
Great Yarmouth Market is a permanent covered market in the Market Place, open Monday to Saturday. Great Yarmouth Borough Council runs it, and its traders keep core hours of 10am to 3pm on weekdays and 10am to 4pm on Saturdays, with some units opening for longer. Stalls offer takeaway food, fresh produce and household goods. On Wednesdays and Saturdays all year, and on Fridays from May to October, open-air stalls trade in the Market Place as well. Since January 2026 they have set up at the northern end of the Market Place. The market dates back to at least 1208, when King John granted the town a Royal Charter.
